The ever-changing swing
So I have what I consider to be a common issue, and I'm not sure why. Through the years I have continued to work on my golf swing, trying to get technical, trying to forget technical, trying to find positions, trying new positions, and so on, so on, so on, and so on.....
The question that I get asked by my playing partner is "Why are you always messing with your swing?". To give context, I regularly top him in our rounds and I have been able to improve my HDCP over time - not without some setbacks and some periods of frustration, however. I am currently an 11.6 HDCP but have been trending quite well with a couple rounds in the 70's to start this golf season. My buddy has played to a single digit but quit working at it and is now likely closer to a 20ish HDCP. And since he no longer tracks it, this is just an estimation.
My methods include everything, except enlisting the assistance of a professional teacher. I usually feel like my swing should be "comfortable" and not feel foreign when I make a pass at the ball. Therefore, incorporating changes is usually very slight but never seem to get too far from my natural swing path/plane/etc.
Do the rest of you feel like you're constantly searching for something new or are you content with what you have and look to shoot better scores simply through the repetition?
